Lagos primary: Unconfirmed results trickle in as Tinubu's candidate Sanwo-Olu defeats Ambode in most wards
Going by reports, there are indications that the governorship aspirant in Lagos, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, is claiming an early lead Governor Akinwunmi Ambode at the breathtaking primary across local governments in the state, including the Alausa area of Ikeja, the state capital.
Sanwo-Olu, on Sunday, September 30, declared his readiness for the party’s direct primaries. The governorship aspirant spoke through the director general of his campaign organisation, Tayo Ayinde.
A statement by the organisation’s director of media, Olusesan Diani, quoted Ayinde as saying that the group's governorship aspirant, Babajide Olusola Sanwo-olu, was set for the election.
Before the ongoing primary came up, rallies had been intensified in support of Governor Ambode across the state.
