Nobel Prize in physics awarded to three scientists, including the first woman to win honor in 55 years

Arthur Ashkin of New Jersey, Gérard Mourou of France and Donna Strickland of Canada were recognized for their pioneering work to turn lasers into powerful tools. Strickland is the third woman in history to win the physics prize.
