Dusseldorf (dpa) - German sausage maker Wiltmann was served a fine of 6.5 million euros (7.5 million dollars) on Tuesday in a case of price-fixing concerning a 12-year period.Collaborating with around 20 other producers, Wiltmann drove prices of sausages up, a court in Dusseldorf ruled.Wiltmann is one of 22 manufacturers fined a total of 338 million euros in 2014 by the German Cartel Office. So far, only a third of the total demanded has actually reached state coffers.Some large companies found a loophole by letting go of their affected subsidiary companies, which left their main businesses unscathed.Wiltmann had appealed against the fine. The other firms involved either accepted the fines or managed to halt proceedings in court.
