Rome (dpa) - Italy wants to stick with the euro, Prime Minister Giuseppe Conte says, after a member of his populist coalition argued that the country would be better off outside the single currency."Italy is a founding member of the European Union and of the Monetary Union and I want to reaffirm this: the euro is our currency and it is irrevocable for us," Conte writes on Facebook."Any other statement presenting a different assessment should be considered a free and arbitrary opinion that has nothing to do with the policies of the government I lead," he adds. Claudio Borghi of the League party earlier said: "I am very convinced that with its own currency Italy would solve the majority of its problems. Not all of them, obviously."dpa alv sdl
