Prosecutors to not charge man with local deaths
RUTLAND, Vt. (AP) — Prosecutors say they will not charge a Vermont man who was sentenced last week to life in prison with two additional killings in Rutland.
The Rutland Herald reports Rutland County State's Attorney Rose Kennedy said Monday it would be hard to create a case against 38-year-old Donald Fell using evidence from 18 years ago.
Authorities say Donald Fell and his friend Robert Lee stabbed Fell's 47-year-old mother, Debra Fell, and her friend, 44-year-old Charles Conway, in 2000.
The two men later abducted 53-year-old supermarket worker Terry King and killed her in New York.
Lee hanged himself in prison in 2001.
