‘That Funky Muncy’ is the T-shirt Dodgers fans need for the MLB playoffs
Max Muncy hit a big home run to help the Dodgers clinch the NL West on Monday. Now, you can pick up his T-shirt to gear up for the playoffs.
Max Muncy (That Funky Muncy!) wasn’t messing around in Game 163. With the NL West on the line, the 28-year-old hit a two-run homer in the fifth inning against the Rockies on Monday.

As Muncy rounded the bases, Dodgers fans had one thing to say.
“Max Muncy! That Funky Muncy!”
And now, after beating the Rockies 5-2 to clinch their sixth consecutive NL West title, the T-shirt that dropped earlier this summer is back just in time for the Dodgers’ playoff run.
“Max Muncy! That Funky Muncy!”
Wait, so what’s the backstory?
Earlier this summer, Muncy was up to bat when Dodgers announcer Joe Davis suggested that the team create a mashup of the song “Brass Monkey” based around Muncy’s name. Muncy’s name rhymes perfectly with the chorus to the famous Beastie Boys song. Think about it.
Max Muncy! That Funky Muncy!
Right as Davis suggested it, the Dodgers’ organist played the song on the video board.

As they say, the rest is history.
Funky Muncy was born and now you can proudly wear the T-shirt to during the playoffs.
