Baby-sitter to serve 7 years on child abuse charges

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) - A Rhode Island man has pleaded no contest to abusing a 5-month-old baby.

The state attorney general's office says 27-year-old Kristofer Bernier, of Woonsocket, was sentenced to serve seven years of a 15-year prison sentence with the remainder suspended with probation.
