Trump says it's a 'scary' time for young men in America but young women are 'doing great'

In the era of #MeToo, President Trump is expressing his sympathy — for men.

While speaking to reporters outside the White House on Tuesday, Trump said it's a "very scary" time to be a young man in America because men are now considered to be guilty until proven innocent. When a reporter asked Trump if he has a message for young women in America, the president responded, "women are doing great," per NBC News.

These comments came as Trump discussed Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh, who the FBI is investigating following allegations of sexual misconduct that he denies. The president said Kavanaugh is innocent and that the accusations are purely political, telling reporters that a person could be "somebody that was perfect your entire life and somebody could accuse you of something ... and you're automatically guilty." Trump added that this phenomenon is one of the "very, very bad things that's taking place right now."

The president made similar comments during a press conference last week; asked if he had a message for young men in light of the cultural moment America is in right now, Trump said that it's "a very dangerous period in our country" and that this is "being perpetrated by some very evil people," per CNN.
