UFC London result: Nathaniel Wood continues MMA tear with second round submission win
ENGLISH UFC sensation Nathaniel Wood continued his assault on MMA’s top promotion with the 16th win of his promising career.
The Carshalton bantamweight, nicknamed The Prospect, dropped tough Mexican Jose Quinonez a handful of times before a rear naked choke earned him the submission win.
Quinonez, a former professional footballer with top Mexican side Tecos, could not handle the 25-year-old Brit’s relentless pressure and power.
Wood said: “This is a dream come true, it means so much to me.
“It was tricky today, I could not land my left hook for s***.
“I want to get in the top 10, in with the best in the world, but I am going to take a holiday and get fat before I get back to the drawing board.”

Quinonez was dropped instantly by a leg kick and after he scrambled to his feet he was met with a meaty left hand.
The Mexican clawed his way back into the bout with wrestling skills but the Brit banger rolled him over and they returned to their feet.
A right hand dropped Quinonez and Wood grabbed his neck and arm before he wriggled free.
Wood happily switched his boxing stance from orthodox to southpaw and hacked away at his rival’s legs with venomous kicks.
Another rapid leg kick floored Quinonez as soon as the second round started.
Wood scored another takedown halfway through the round and the crowd roared when the mustachioed Mexican tapped.
