Couple who flew to Greece for dream wedding horrified to find RUBBISH TIP at venue
A COUPLE and 53 guests flew to Greece for their dream wedding only to find a filthy venue with rubbish piled outside.
Emma and Peter Hall spent a year saving £6,000 for their Corfu nuptials.
But “Ipsos town hall”, advertised in a TUI brochure, turned out to be a tatty conference room above a rundown hotel.
Outside were hundreds of bags of rubbish and a “junkyard” of discarded bikes, tyres and sunbeds.
Teacher Emma, of Darlington, said: “Nothing could prepare us for what we were faced with.
“Inside the venue was filthy. It looked as though it hadn’t been cleaned for years and was left to become rundown. It was a building in need of a lot of attention.
“We went up some stairs and everywhere we turned was squalor.
We trusted TUI. The expectation set was that of a fairy tale

“The brickwork and plaster was all broken and cracked and the windows and carpet were dirty.
“There were ashtrays with cigarettes still in them.
“We would expect TUI to have visited venues themselves before putting them into a brochure and offering them.
“We trusted TUI. The expectation set was that of a fairy tale.
“We imagined walking into the sunset with all our loved ones around us, smiling and laughing.”
Law firm Bott and Co is now seeking damages for their “stress and upset”.

Senior partner David Bott said: “This couple were tremendously let down on one of the most important days of their lives and as a result, suffered a great deal of stress and upset.
“It is a great shame that TUI will not admit responsibility for this ordeal so that the couple can put it behind them and move forward. We’re going to do all that we can to get the couple fair compensation for their disappointment and unhappiness.”
TUI said it is investigating.
