C.J. McCollum suffers left leg injury
The Portland shooting guard appeared to suffer a serious injury during Saturday’s game.
Portland Trail Blazers guard C.J. McCollum left Saturday’s game against the San Antonio Spurs after suffering a leg injury. McCollum appeared to be in a serious amount of pain, and was helped off the court.
CJ McCollum was helped off the court by Skal Labissiere and Meyers Leonard and the trio went directly to the Blazers' locker room. Not a good scene.

The Blazers just announced that CJ McCollum will not return. Right now they are calling it a “left leg injury”

It’s hard to know the extent of the injury, but that certainly doesn’t look very good. However, until we find out more information, we don’t know whether he’ll be back soon, or if he’ll miss the rest of the season. McCollum will undergo an MRI on his knee on Sunday.
The Blazers are currently fourth in the Western Conference with a record of 42-26. If the standings hold, they would be lined up to face the Golden State Warriors in the second round of the playoffs.
Portland has met the Warriors in the playoffs twice in recent years. The Dubs swept the Blazers in the first round in 2017, and won in five games in the second round in 2016.
McCollum, in his sixth year, is averaging 21.5 points, 4.1 rebounds, and 2.9 assists per game this year for the Blazers. He is their second-leading scorer, and it’s hard to imagine Portland making much noise in the postseason without him.
Here’s hoping he’s okay, so that all the playoff teams can be in good shape when the postseason rolls around.
