WHL Roundup: Blazers, Rockets win to set up tiebreaker game for playoff spot
PRINCE GEORGE, B.C. - The Western Hockey League will need a tiebreaker to determine the final playoff spot.
Jermaine Loewen scored twice as the Kamloops Blazers beat the Prince George Cougars 4-2 on Saturday to set up a must-win game against the Kelowna Rockets for a spot in the post-season.
The Blazers and Rockets, each with 64 points, will meet Tuesday in Kamloops, B.C., for a tiebreaker game to determine the final playoff berth in the B.C. Division and Western Conference.
Connor Zary and Kobe Mohr also scored for the Blazers (28-32-8). Dylan Garand made 29 saves for the victory.
Vladislav Mikhalchuk and Cole Moberg replied for the Cougars (19-41-8). Taylor Gauthier turned away 21 shots in defeat.

ROCKETS 3 GIANTS 2 (OT)
KELOWNA, B.C. — Mark Liwiski scored the winner at 3:40 of overtime as the Rockets edged Vancouver to keep their season alive for one more game.
Cayde Augustine and Alex Swetlikoff scored in regulation for Kelowna (28-32-8). Roman Basran had 19 saves for the win.
Justin Sourdif and Jadon Joseph scored while David tendeck made 32 saves for the Giants (48-15-5).

SPOKANE, Wash. — Adam Beckman scored a hat trick and Bear Hughes added a pair of goals as the Chiefs hammered Tri-City.
Nolan Reid, Ethan McIndoe, Luc Smith, Cordel Larson and Jake McGrew also scored for Spokane (40-21-7). Bailey Brkin made 19 saves for the victory.
Nolan Yaremko scored for the Americans (34-28-6). Talyn Boyko kicked out 37-of-47 shots in a losing cause.
