Ronaldo will escape ban for mocking Simeone with ‘cojones’ celebration, claims Juve boss Allegri
MASSIMILANO ALLEGRI insists Cristiano Ronaldo will NOT face a ban after mocking Diego Simeone’s ‘cojones’ celebration.
Juventus’ superstar single-handedly fired the Italian giants into the Champions League quarter-finals in midweek with a hat-trick.
Ronaldo celebrated one of his goals by dramatically throwing his hands down and grabbing his crotch – mimicking the actions of Atletico Madrid boss from the first-leg.
Simeone was handed a 20,000 euro fine (about £17,000) for his actions, but Juve boss Allegri doesn’t expect any punishment for Ronaldo.
He said: “Absolutely not. I think everyone celebrated their own way on the field and in the stands.
“I saw nothing strange, just a celebration. There won’t be a ban.”
Juve came from two goals down to advance to the last-eight of the competition where they will face Ajax.

But Italian boss Allegri was keen to ease the excitement around his side.
He said: “Right now the balance in the squad is good. We did something special on Tuesday and the team spirit is positive.
“The first leg wasn’t a failure against Atletico, and we aren’t in the final yet. We need to always take it one step at a time. We are well both physically and mentally.
“I must compliment the guys for their calmness and lucidity they had when it was 1-0 and 2-0. The objective was to not concede a corner to Atletico. Even those who came on made a difference.”
