Sophie Gradon’s mum writes heartfelt message to Mike Thalassitis’ family saying ‘I am inconsolable’ after Love Island stars shock death
SOPHIE Gradon’s mum has penned a heartfelt message to Mike Thalassitis’ family saying she is “inconsolable” after the Love Island stars shock death.
Mike, 26, was found dead in woodland in North London on Saturday, and the Metropolitan Police have said today they were not treating his death as suspicious.
As soon as the news of Mike’s death broke on Saturday evening, tributes poured in from his fellow reality stars and loved ones.
Deborah Gradon, the mum of late Love Island star Sophie, also took to social media to pass on her heartfelt condolences to Mike’s grieving family, knowing first hand how hard it is to lose a loved one prematurely.
Deborah wrote: “To #MikeThalassitis and his bereft Family.
“Thinking of you, wishing you hope in the midst of sorrow, comfort in the midst of pain. Love in your darkest hours.
“I’m walking the same road as the inconsolable Mother of #SophieGradon.”
Sophie, 32, was tragically found dead at her home in Newcastle in June last year, two years after appearing on Love Island in 2016.
It was revealed yesterday that an investigation into her death had been dramatically halted after new information came to light.
In a horrifying twist of fate, Mike’s death was confirmed just hours later by his agent.
The star had rose to fame on the 2017 series of the ITV2 reality show, a year after Sophie participated.
A Met Police spokesperson said in a statement they had been called to a park near Latymer Way about 9.30am yesterday to “reports of a man found hanged”.
Despite paramedics rushing to the scene, the young man was pronounced dead.
