Former Man Utd boss David Moyes says VAR debate is as bad as Brexit
FORMER Manchester United boss David Moyes has likened VAR to Brexit in describing the video replay technology as riddled with blunders.
The Scottish manager, 55, told BeIN Sports it takes too long to make decisions and they don’t always get the correct outcome.
Moyes likened the VAR farce to the UK’s attempt to leave the European Union in a scathing piece of social commentary.
The dig came just hours after fresh controversy in yesterday’s FA Cup games – where Manchester City were on the receiving end of two fortuitous decisions as they battled back from 2-0 down to beat Swansea 3-2.
Later that evening, Manchester United star Victor Lindelof had his red card controversially overturned in the 2-0 defeat at Wolves.
Following the series of poor decisions, Moyes said: “I don’t think everybody in the UK is totally convinced by VAR.

“I think we are taking too long to make the decisions, I don’t think we are quite sure when it comes around.
“I think it’s quite easy when you see mistakes, it’s easy to say, ‘let’s get VAR in and let’s make the decisions’.
“But I think we’ve seen a lot of decisions in VAR that we don’t believe are correct.
“It’s nearly as bad as Brexit at the moment.”
