Yahoo! News

A new species of "marsupial lion" extinct in Australia for 19 million years has been discovered at one of the most significant fossil deposits in the world, researchers said Thursday. The predator, with blade-like, flesh-cutting premolars used to tear up prey, stalked the country's rainforests during the late Oligocene to early Miocene era. "This meat-eating marsupial is estimated to have been about the size of a dog and weighed around 23 kilograms," said Anna Gillespie, lead author of a study... Читать дальше...

Tottenham News

It’s nice to be here after a nice little win in the Champions League. Hello, Hoddlers! That was a fun Champions League group stage, wasn’t it? (Remember the old days, when this team couldn’t get out of a group with Monaco, Bayer Leverkusen, and CSKA Moscow? Sorry, I’ll stop.) First things first: the mystery man in the image from yesterday’s Hoddle was Dele Alli. I saw a bunch of you (or at least one of you) guessed right, so well done! Secondly, I’m going to skip the ramble for today. Instead, I... Читать дальше...

Alexandra the Great: In defence of Alexandra Burke

Paper Blog

I was bullied at school. I may have mentioned it. From my very first day, when I ran enthusiastically to the Wendy house and put on a skirt from the dressing up box, to my last, when I unpacked my things from my locker - covered in knife marks and homophobic graffiti - I was tortured. It took many forms over the years, from the regular, violent stuff or the name-calling, to the more covert exclusion from games, victimisation through rumour mills, mocking of my intellect or lack thereof. It was, to say the least, very wearing. Читать дальше...

Paul DeJong, 2018 Fantasy Baseball Sleeper

Razzball

Sleepers fall into a few categories.  Guys who disappointed last year who could bounce back; players who have a solid pedigree who just haven't broken out yet, and the ones that have broken out who no one trusts to repeat.  The last group is usually the least interesting.  You've presumably seen their best.  Seems like the only mystery there is is their (palindromic stutterer!) downside.  It's prolly why 50% of marriages end in divorce.  The first category of those that could bounce back are the... Dear Abby: I am not a hugger. In fact, I pretty much always hate it. But people think I’m rude when I don’t open my arms to hug after they’ve opened theirs. And they also think I’m rude when I tell them I’m not really a hugger. It happens with friends, fellow church congregants and audience members (I’m an entertainer) all the time. Although I let the hugs happen, I’m usually holding my breath the whole time. Once I’ve “Hey girl’d” someone and offered my warmest smile, what more can I do? I don’t... Читать дальше...
