We’re told this restructuring is relatively small-scale and that the headcount won’t come close to triple digits — perhaps a few dozen employees at most are being impacted. The round is a combination of buyouts, position eliminations and layoffs. A few departments are being effected by the cuts — most notably at the CBS network and within its syndication group. The Ukrainian parliament voted on Thursday to extend a ban on the sale of agricultural land by one year, delaying what financial backers say is a key reform essential to Ukraine's long-term economic growth. The bill was backed by 236 lawmakers, narrowly over the 226 required to pass. Currently Ukraine's more than 40 million hectares (99 million acres) of farmland cannot be bought or sold. General Electric Co.'s stock rallied as much as 2.3% Thursday, before paring more than half those gains, after the industrial conglomerate said its power division was cutting 12,000 jobs, as traditional power markets, like gas and coal, have slowed. Nashua's The Telegraph newspaper reports a teacher first noticed the odor around Nov. 21 at the James Mastricola Upper Elementary School in Merrimack. Maintenance crews thought it was a dead mouse and called in a company that found bat feces in a cavity between an exterior brick wall and an inside block.
