An Analogy

Small Heath Alliance

The scouts are out camping, the scout master promised the kids that there will be a great roaring fire in the middle all through the night.

He used to be a good scout master 15 years ago but times have changed and he seems to be a bit senile and losing it.

He isn't happy with his wood provided by the camp so much to the confusion of the kids he throws it all into the lake and then puts it back onto the fire to prove to the camp management they need to give him money to go to Tesco and buy some more wood that he chooses. Читать дальше...

Five players we want to see win the 2018 Ballon d'Or, not Ronaldo or Messi

ESPN FC

Stevie Nicol feels Cristiano Ronaldo is well deserving of his fifth Ballon d'Or, which now ties him for most all-time with Lionel Messi. Real Madrid star Cristiano Ronaldo has claimed his rivalry with Barcelona counterpart Lionel Messi is just starting. The 2017 Ballon d'Or is upon us and it's Cristiano Ronaldo who walks away with the prize once more. But who do we want to win the award next year? Not who deserves it, but rather who we'll like to see atop the podium. Kevin De Bruyne... Читать дальше...

A day after Trump's dramatic decision, much U.S. policy on the disputed holy city appeared largely unchanged. As a result, you can forget about seeing Jerusalem referred to as Israeli in any U.S. passport anytime soon. Trump's announcement may have infuriated the world, sparked violent Palestinian... Al Franken isn't sorry

The Week

It's a comfort to know that today was perhaps the very last time that any of us will have to see the self-satisfied visage of Sen. Al Franken (D-Minn.) leering contemptuously from the floor of the Senate. What I do not understand is why.

‘Breathe’ Star Andrew Garfield on Finding Hope in ‘a Place of Near Apocalypse’

«SFGate» (sfgate.com)

This story about Andrew Garfield first appeared in the Actors/Directors/Screenwriters issue of TheWrap’s Oscar magazine. Robin Cavendish couldn’t use his body. Couldn’t caress his wife or pick up his son, couldn’t scratch his nose or shoo a fly. He had some control of his facial muscles but no control of his breathing, which was regulated by a machine. And none of those things struck Andrew Garfield, who plays Cavendish in the Andy Serkis movie “Breathe,” as any kind of acting challenge. “I only... Читать дальше...
