CHICAGO (AP) — A suburban Chicago man who pleaded guilty to making and distributing illegal steroids to dozens of customers has been sentenced to two years in federal prison. The U.S. Attorney's Office in Chicago says in a news release that 25-year-old Christopher C. Hickson took bulk powders he'd imported from China to manufacture anabolic steroid pills in a makeshift laboratory in his Aurora home. Bill Haslam has announced a $5,000 reward for information that helps authorities find, arrest and convict whoever is responsible for the September shooting death of Michael Heatherly. According to a news release, Sullivan County District Attorney General Barry Staubus requested the reward from Haslam to generate leads in the unsolved case. WELCH, W.Va. (AP) — West Virginia collected $96 million in property tax revenue from oil and natural gas production during the 2017 tax year, a decline of $38 million from the previous year. News outlets report that a Monday news release from the West Virginia Oil and Natural Gas Association says the $96 million will go to county government for local school systems and community services. JOLIET, Ill. (AP) — A northern Illinois man has been sentenced to 32 years in prison for fatally choking his mother and dumping her body in the Des Plaines River. Will County prosecutors say a judge sentenced 37-year-old Shane Smith of Joliet on Tuesday. He pleaded guilty in June to first-degree murder for the Oct. 13, 2013 death of Joan Smith. Thieves managed to break into St Lawrence parish church in Vittoriosa last night, but they got away with nothing other than some coins from collection boxes. The break-in followed the usual method of climbing on scaffolding, which was on the facade of a private property adjoining the church. Once on the roof, the thieves broke down a door and gained access to the church.
