Ursachenforschung und Schadensbegutachtung ist laut Gas Connect Austria GmbH (GCA) am Mittwoch in der am Vortag von einer Explosion betroffenen Erdgasstation Baumgarten im Bezirk Gänserndorf betrieben worden. Ergebnisse gebe es noch nicht, sagte Landeskriminalamts-Leiter Omar Haijawi-Pirchner am Nachmittag auf APA-Anfrage.

Die Landespolizeidirektion hat am Mittwochvormittag bestätigt, dass bei der Explosion in der Erdgasstation Baumgarten ein 32-Jähriger ums Leben gekommen ist. Der Mann stammte aus dem Bezirk Korneuburg, sagte Sprecher Raimund Schwaigerlehner auf Anfrage. Laut einer Aussendung der Gas Connect Austria GmbH (GCA) handelte es sich um einen Mitarbeiter des TÜV (Technischer Überwachungsverein) Austria.

Nach der Explosion in der Erdgasstation Baumgarten der Gas Connect Austria (GCA) von Dienstagfrüh haben am Mittwoch die Untersuchungen zur Ursache angedauert. Der Unfall hatte ein Todesopfer, einen Schwerverletzten und 20 Leichtverletzte gefordert. Unter Letzteren sind nach Polizeiangaben acht ausländische Staatsbürger.
