Smart Handgun Safe Not Smart Enough Not To Let Basically Anyone Break Into It

Techdirt

When we discuss the problems around "the internet of things" and app-controlled everything, we typically have to get into the weeds a bit about privacy, whether you own what you purchased, and the ethical implications of opening up an internet-connected service or product to potential hacking. On the security and hacking side of things, it should be clear by now that far too many companies don't take this stuff seriously enough. Our pages are rife with IoT devices being hacked, including everything from Barbie dolls to sports cars. Читать дальше...

Obamacare enrollment is shrinking after Trump’s sabotage

Vox

The Trump administration set the law up to fail.

President Trump hasn’t succeeded in repealing Obamacare yet. But his administration is doing its best to force the law to fail.

The most critical time of the year for the health care law is open enrollment, when millions of people log on to online marketplaces, check whether they qualify for federal subsidies to help them pay their premiums, and shop for plans. For the past three years, at least 10 million people have gotten insurance that way each year. Читать дальше...

Football and the art of telling lies (19 replies)

Small Heath Alliance

All football clubs have issues, all managers are one-eyed, all those who take money from the game are keen to protect their own interests but the sheer amount of bare-faced lying in football really does my swede in tbh. It's so prevalent that for someone to tell the truth (or at least their version of it) they have to do it anonymously or in 'an explosive tell-all' autobiography written well after they've left the game. I don't really understand how or why fans can remain loyal to a sport that constantly bullshits them.
