Neil Patrick Harris Teases ‘A Series of Unfortunate Events’ Season 2 (Video)

«SFGate» (sfgate.com)

If you had a lovely New Year’s Eve, “A Series of Unfortunate Events” antagonist Count Olaf (Neil Patrick Harris) failed in his attempt to ruin your first memories of 2018 with his creepiness. It also means you haven’t seen Netflix’s fourth-wall breaking teaser for Season 2, which will return March 30. “I’m so sorry to disturb your recovery, but it’s time for us to get this New Year’s Day binge started,” Olaf says in the teaser, which snuck up on unsuspecting Netflix users in the wee hours on Monday. Quality of squad in regard to PL

Marching On Together

Just a thought: how many of the current squad would be good enough for the PL?
Yes: Jansson, Saiz,
Maybe could adapt (or as back-up): Hernandez, Vieira, Dallas, Pennington, Cooper
Most probably couldn`t: Alioski, Roofe, Ekuban, Cibicki, O`Kane, Peacock-Farrell,
No: Lasogga, Berardi, Wiedwald, Phillips, Grot, Ayling, Shaughnessy, Sacko, Klich, Lonergan, Anita, Borthwick-Jackson

To go up even with 7 players clearly capable to adapt wouldn`t be very promissing. I just think we are... Читать дальше...

General Chat • Re: Not clinical and lack of leadership

Marching On Together

Coming back to bite us again

How many games should we have won far more convincingly? Forest 1st time, Boro, Sunderland, Burton 1st time (5 could have been 8), Bristol City.

How many games didnt we win where we should have? Preston, Wood missed 2 or 3, Dallas i think had a chance, Fulham, Wood goal wrongly disallowed, Phillips had a chance and Wood as well. Notts Forest today, not a great performance but should have won convincingly. Sheffield Wednesday we lost 3-0 but by there own... Читать дальше...

Turning blue to ring in the new with frigid Jan. 1 Ocean Beach plunge

«SFGate» (sfgate.com)

They were handing out fresh starts Monday at Ocean Beach, but you had to go into the water to get one. Getting a fresh start is what jumping into the ocean on New Year’s Day is all about, and never mind that all the problematic stuff from 2017, including climate and president, is still very much around. Three hundred people showed up at the foot of Taraval Street for the annual rite. It’s less a swim than a baptism, because hardly anyone did anything more than jump in and jump out. Читать дальше...

Bills reverse tank talk by ending 17-year playoff drought

Times Union

ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. (AP) — It took four months and a dramatic turn of events on one of the final plays of the NFL's regular season for coach Sean McDermott and the Buffalo Bills to finally — and succinctly — put to rest any suggestion the team had any intention of tanking last summer. "I'll let you guys handle that," McDermott said, referring to reporters on Monday. "We're moving on after today to the first round of the playoffs." And that's all that matters to the first-year coach, who took the high... Читать дальше...

Times Union

Milton threw two touchdown passes and ran for 116 yards with another touchdown, leading No. 10 UCF to a 34-27 Peach Bowl win over No. 7 Auburn on Monday. Then it was time to boast. Lions, Bears fire head coaches on ‘Black Monday’

«SFGate» (sfgate.com)

Black Monday lived up to its name this year, following a Black Sunday on which head coaches Jack Del Rio of the Raiders and Chuck Pagano of the Colts were shown the door. On Monday, the Lions and Bears fired their head coaches, but the Broncos retained theirs and the Bengals left theirs hanging. The Lions dismissed Jim Caldwell, who will leave despite a 36-28 after four years. Within hours, another coach with a notable pedigree, John Fox, was ousted by the Bears. Читать дальше...

Pittsburgh Post-Gazette

A skeletal portrait of the Sterling, Virginia, man federal authorities have accused of obstructing a terrorism investigation began to come into focus on Monday - that of a directionless youth who converted to Islam at the end of high school, married a significantly older Muslim woman, had a child who died as an infant, and became increasingly religious until an arrest on Friday that allegedly included him destroying a computer thumb drive that authorities suspect contained evidence of terrorism-related activity.

«SFGate» (sfgate.com)

PHOENIX (AP) — The number of valley fever cases in Arizona surged in November, putting the state at a year-end total above 2016, the Arizona Department of Health Services said. There were 926 cases reported in November, the highest monthly total since September 2015, The Arizona Republic reported Wednesday. Officials aren't sure how to explain the November surge, said Cara Christ, the state's health care director. The high volume of reports in November will likely put 2017's total over the 6,101 cases reported in 2016. Читать дальше...
