Rent-A-Center appoints Mitch Faddell CEO, will continue strategic review

Rent-A-Center Inc. said Tuesday that it has named Mitch Faddell chief executive effective immediately, succeeding Mark Speese who has resigned from the position. Speese will remain on the board. Faddell was previously president and chief operating officer of the rent-to-own company. Rent-A-Center announced on Oct. 30, 2017 that it will explore strategic and financial alternatives. Global markets turn lower as 2018 trading gets underway

BEIJING (AP) — Stock markets turned lower in European hours on Tuesday, the first day of trading in 2018, as investors looked ahead to whether the record-setting equity run will last.
