L&T's construction arm wins Rs 14.5 bn contracts including one in Egypt

Infrastructure major Larsen & Toubro (L&T) today said its construction arm has won contracts worth Rs 1,454 crore including one in Egypt. The Smart World & Communications Business Unit secured an order worth Rs 864 crore for implementation of 5 million Smart Meters across 16 cities of Uttar Pradesh and Haryana, the company said in a statement. SEVERN, Md. (AP) — Police say two people, including a teenager, were shot and wounded at a New Year's party in Maryland. The Capital reports Anne Arundel County police responded to shooting reports around 1 a.m. Monday and found a man who had been shot in the back at a large party. Police say they were also told that a 17-year-old boy had been shot in the arm, but was already driven to a hospital. His condition is unknown.
