SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (AP) — Two men convicted in connection with a wide-ranging investigation into organized crime in western Massachusetts face sentencing. Giovanni Calabrese and Ralph Santaniello are scheduled to be sentenced Tuesday in federal court in Worcester. The Longmeadow men were among five area residents convicted in connection with the $20,000 shakedown of a Springfield towing company owner and loansharking. TRENTON, N.J. (AP) — Gas prices in New Jersey and across the nation inched up this week as they continue their spring rise. AAA Mid-Atlantic says the average price of a gallon of regular gas Friday in the state was $2.69, two cents higher than last week. Motorists were paying $2.36 a gallon at this time last year. HUNTERTOWN, Ind. (AP) — A northern Indiana conservation group is seeking donations to replenish a fund it exhausted buying land that's now protected from development. The Huntertown-based ACRES Land Trust needs nearly $97,000 in donations for its revolving fund that's set aside for land purchases.
