Beef cattle feedlot settles with state in air pollution case

WALLULA, Wash. (AP) — A company that operates a beef cattle feedlot in southeastern Washington has reached a settlement with the state over a charge of failing to manage air pollution. The Walla Walla Union-Bulletin reported Friday that Simplot Feeders LLP agreed to pay a reduced fine and invest in a project that reduces small-particle pollution at their operation in Wallula, according to state Department of Ecology officials.
