West Brom mood is surprisingly positive despite imminent relegation

ESPN FC

WEST BROMWICH, England -- "Hope is a dangerous thing. Hope can drive a man insane." Elis "Red" Redding's lecture to Andy Dufresne in the Shawshank Redemption applied, odd as it might seem, to a small part of the West Midlands on Saturday. For a while, West Brom had hope of a victory but even after that was gone, there remained a whiff of the most curious positivity about the place. For 21 minutes of their relegation slug-out with Swansea City, they were on course for just their fourth win of...

Yes, Aaron Ramsey is Better Than Christian Eriksen

Arsenal News

During another boring international break this past November, something happened that captivated the sports media world for several days. On November 14, 2017, during a World Cup playoff game between Denmark and The Republic of Ireland, Christian Eriksen scored a hattrick. Denmark went on to win the match 5-1 and earned a ticket to Russia. While the goals were decent enough, the media blew it out of proportion. This was only against an Ireland team that hasn’t made a World Cup since 2002. Читать дальше...

BusinessInsider.com

  • John Williams was named president of the New York Fed above the objections of critics and community organizations who wanted a woman or person of color to represent the powerful regional central bank.
  • Several highly-qualified women were passed up for the job in an opaque search process with little public input.
