Rio Rancho police investigating death of 7-year-old at home

RIO RANCHO, N.M. (AP) — Rio Rancho police say they're investigating the death of a 7-year-old child and that there are circumstances that raise unspecified concerns. The child's gender and cause of death weren't released and Police Chief Ron Vigil says nobody was immediately arrested after police responded to a 911 call at a home Saturday. Vigil says the child and the child's mother were staying at the home and that the mother was cooperating with police as they continued their investigation that included getting a search warrant for the home.
