Jaguars WR Lee injures knee in 17-6 victory against Falcons

Times Union

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (AP) — The Jacksonville Jaguars might have lost their No. 1 receiver for the season. Marqise Lee, who led the team in receptions in 2017, injured his left knee in a 17-6 victory against Atlanta in the preseason Saturday night and could be out for the year. Lee was carted off the field in the first quarter after Falcons cornerback Damontae Kazee twisted his leg making a tackle. Lee fumbled on the play, but it was overturned because Kazee was flagged for tackling with his helmet. Читать дальше...

The National Interest

Alan Taffel

Politics, Americas

On a recent episode of NPR’s All Things Considered, three Democratic incumbents to the House—Cheri Bustos of Illinois, New York’s Hakeem Jeffries and David Cicilini of Rhode Island—were doing what Democrats do all too well: wringing their hands and overthinking a problem. The “problem” in this case: coming up with a single, unifying policy... Читать дальше...

The National Interest

Michael Peck

Security, Americas

“The constitutional framework appears to contemplate that the role of establishing, organizing, regulating, and providing resources for the Armed Forces belongs to Congress, while the President is in charge of commanding the forces Congress has established using the funds Congress has provided,” CRS concluded.

President Trump wants to create the U.S. Space Force as the sixth military branch.

But that’s not Trump’s call to make, according to the Congressional Research Service. Читать дальше...

How Macedonia Could Push NATO into a War

The National Interest

Ted Galen Carpenter

Security, Eurasia

Macedonia's tenuous relationships with its neighbor states make it a liability for the alliance.

When Fox News host Tucker Carlson asked Donald Trump last month why he should send his son to die defending Montenegro, NATO’s newest member, the president seemed to repudiate his own administration’s policy. He indicated that Americans shouldn’t be willing to sacrifice their lives for such a trivial ally. Furthermore, he warned that Montenegro “has very aggressive people. Читать дальше...

Joel Greenblatt Interview - His magic formula for stock market investing

There aren’t many Wall Street legends who command respect like Joel Greenblatt. After starting his money management firm, Gotham Capital in 1985, he and his business partner, Rob Goldstein, spent the next decade delivering returns that took Wall Street by storm. Yet the nature of Greenblatt’s strategy meant long periods of super-high returns would be interrupted by spells of underperformance. For him, these periodic drawdowns were simply a mathematical consequence of running concentrated value portfolios. Читать дальше...
