NY lawmakers continue hearings in parole decisions
ALBANY, N.Y. (AP) — Republican lawmakers in New York are heading to Long Island for the second of two days of hearings into recent decisions by the state parole board to release some high-profile offenders. Tuesday morning's hearing will be held at the Hicksville Community Center. An initial hearing was held Monday in Albany. The hearings are focused on several parole decisions, including one earlier this year to release 70-year-old Herman Bell, a former Black Liberation Army radical who killed two New York City police officers in 1971.
