Mr. Rudley has had an exceptionally successful career as president, Texas Southern University; interim chancellor and president, University of Houston System; vice chancellor of finance, Tennessee Board of Regents, and assistant to former U.S. Secretary of Education Lamar Alexander.

Although I agree with your Sept. 29 editorial, “Trust the process; trust the people,” that it would be preferable to let the election process decide the fate of our President instead of impeachment, unfortunately there is a major flaw in your conclusion.

To the editor: Connecting dots shows state doesn't care about our water

We need to connect the dots to see the complete picture. This week the city of Oregon passed a resolution asking the Ohio Department of Agriculture to require that two proposed Concentrated Animal Feeding Operation permits, which would add 14,400 more swine to the Maumee River watershed, treat manure from these facilities to human waste disposal standards, and that manure from these facilities that is land-applied meet phosphorus agronomic standards that apply to commercial fertilizer.

Sam Misiura, known as a creative and agile chef — he worked in kitchens from age 16 including more than a decade at the Toledo Zoo — who measured success in diner satisfaction, died Monday in University of Michigan Cardiovascular Center in Ann Arbor. He was 42.
