A young man from Thirumangalam of Madurai district in Tamilnadu got stuck down a 70-foot well when hunting doves. Muthukalai lost his job as a mason due to the COVID-19 pandemic and resorted to hunting the local dove population to feed himself. He used a rope to lower himself into the well when searching for the bird then suddenly the rope gave way and he found himself stuck in the hole. Muthukalai sustained multiple injuries including fractures. Locals heard his cries and called local rescue teams from the fire department, who rescued him.
A village in Sumatra was shrouded in ash after Mount Sinabung erupted on August 10. Volcanic ash from the eruption landed on the nearby village turning the buildings and roads a dark grey colour. The 2,460-metre (8,070-foot) volcano became active again in 2010 after lying dormant for 400 years.
A pet cat has an unfortunate marking on its face - resembling male genitals.
