A group of burglars drilled a hole into the wall of a jewellery shop in Ludhiana, Punjab, India on Wednesday night and made their escape with gold and silver. Assistant Sub Inspector Sukhwinder Singh of Punjab Police has been booked for allegedly raping a woman for years and forcing her to have an abortion. The woman also alleges that the officer tried to force her to develop physical relations with other policemen, and when she refused, he circulated her lewd pictures and videos. A 24-year-old woman in Jajmau, Uttar Pradesh was allegedly slashed with a sharp edged weapon by her husband on the pretext of meeting her on Wednesday evening.
