Republic Day rehearsals in Delhi slam the brakes on traffic at Noida borders

Delhi's traffic was congested on Monday morning due to Republic Day rehearsals. Heavy vehicles were directed to take a U-turn for the Eastern Peripheral Expressway, which reduced the clogging by 2pm. 7 held with 500kg marijuana, cops say was for sale in Delhi-NCR

Seven people, including a woman, were arrested in Greater Noida on Sunday for smuggling more than 500 kg of marijuana which, police said, was meant for agents who would sell it to college and university students in Delhi-NCR. Cops claimed the marijuana consignment, worth over Rs 1.5 crore, was brought to the city from Odisha.

A gang of three people, all of whom are teenagers, was arrested in Noida, India on Sunday night after a gunfight with the police. The gang is believed to have been behind at least three robberies in the area in the past two weeks, including one in which a commuter was found bound and blindfolded in the car after the police team intercepted the gang while they were driving. The gang also includes a bsc graduate and all four are youngsters who live in Ghaziabad.
