NEP: 8 Ludhiana schools to now adopt app-based learning

To bridge learning gaps and accelerate national education policy, eight city schools have adopted app-based learning from the upcoming academic year 2023-24. An online ed-tech platform, Singhania Quest for CBSE schools, would be implemented in these schools where over 8,000 students would practice, revise concepts and will be assessed.

Fever cases under control in district, say health officials

The district continues to report around 180 to 200 fever cases daily. Most of the flu cases are being diagnosed at the fever camps, which the health department has been conducting daily since March 10. Around 100 fever camps are being conducted every day in the district.

Photo expo to save Buddha Nullah in Ludhiana

City based green activists on Thursday took out their 18th foot march along Buddha Nullah to save the water body. The march is usually carried out on Sundays, but this week another march was taken out as activists had to cover the entire stretch of the nullah before their photo exhibition on March 26. The photos displayed in the exhibition would show the polluted nullah, hence urging the residents to take action and save it.

Liquor vend tender closes today; high cost deters businessmen in Ludhiana

In a bid to keep tabs on the movement of e-rickshaws to be used for door-to-door garbage collection, the civic authorities are now planning to install GPS tracker in these vehicles which are likely to be linked with the integrated command and control centre (ICCC) for monitoring. The civic body has faced criticism for spending Rs 8.5 crore on these e-rickshaws which have not been used till date. The residents feel the authorities should ensure these should be brought on road for usage as well so that garbage lifting should be proper.
