A new report shows the state Justice Department's crime labs processed DNA test results considerably faster in 2022 despite receiving hundreds more cases. The department released its annual crime lab performance report Thursday. According to the report, the labs received 4,347 cases involving testing evidence for DNA in 2022. The labs completed 3,715 cases, with testing in each of those cases taking an average of 84 days. That's an improvement over 2021, when the labs took 3,612 cases and completed analysis in 3,526.
