Anthony Wayne is a revered name in greater Toledo 227 years after his death, attached to a highway, a high school, and history. The general who made the Northwest Territory safe for settlers with victory in the battle of Fallen Timbers and subsequent Treaty of Greenville is honored beyond northwest Ohio. In a callous act of historic cluelessness, the federal government threatens to sacrifice the memory of Anthony Wayne on the alter of political correctness.
