Internet, tech can do harm if not regulated via prism of safety, trust: Rajeev Chandrasekhar

​​​The minister of state for IT and electronics said that while artificial intelligence (AI) is one of the biggest inventions of recent times, the government is committed to ensuring the safety of users on digital platforms, given that India is one of the largest connected nations in the world with almost 850 million Indians already using the internet and 1.2 billion estimated to do so by 2025-26.

FIRST discovery of dozens of new giant radio galaxies

Astronomers from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and elsewhere report the discovery of 63 new giant radio galaxies as part of the Faint Images of the Radio Sky at Twenty cm survey (FIRST). The findings are detailed in a paper published Nov. 15 on the pre-print server arXiv.

Finmin calls meeting of bankers, other senior officials to deal with digital payment fraud

The Finance Ministry has called a meeting to discuss steps to combat digital payment fraud and cyber security issues. The meeting, chaired by Financial Services Secretary, will focus on financial cyber security and the latest statistics of digital payment frauds. The Indian Cyber Crime Co-ordination Centre will present on the challenges and issues faced in countering such issues.
