Hero Electric taps investor GII, credit funds to raise ₹550 cr

The development comes at a time when Hero Electric has been facing pressure on operations with the Ministry of Heavy Industries stalling disbursal of subsidies under FAME II (Faster Adoption & Manufacturing of Electric Vehicles) in FYFY22 after receiving anonymous emails alleging that several firms including Hero Electric were claiming subsidies under the scheme without meeting the Phased Manufacturing Plan norms meant to increase indigenisation, investments and employment in India.

South African Runner Oscar Pistorius Granted Parole

PRETORIA, SOUTH AFRICA - Double-amputee Olympic runner Oscar Pistorius was granted parole Friday, 10 years after shooting his girlfriend through a toilet door at his home in South Africa in a killing that jolted the world. He will be released from prison on January 5 but will be constantly monitored by parole officials for five years until his sentence expires, the Department of Corrections said.

The outbreak that began in early 2022 has been much less severe this year as fewer cases of the virus are being found among the wild birds that spread it, but there have still been more than 8 million birds killed this year to help control the spread of the disease.
