Production of 5 MMT green hydrogen can help cut Rs 1 lakh cr worth fossil fuel imports: R K Singh

Union Minister R K Singh stated that with the 5 million metric tonnes (MMT) installed capacity under the National Green Hydrogen Mission, India could reduce fossil fuel imports worth Rs 1 lakh crore by 2030. The National Green Hydrogen Mission, approved by the Union Cabinet in January 2023 with an outlay of Rs 19,744 crore, aims to position India as a global hub for green hydrogen manufacturing.
