Ration card portability gains traction in 2023; records 28 cr transactions in 11 months

The objective of the One Nation One Ration Card (ONORC) service was to empower poor beneficiaries under the National Food Security Act (NFSA), espcially migrants, to avail subsidised ration seamlessly from any e-PoS (electronic point of sale device) enabled ration shops in the country with biometric or aadhar authentification at the time of lifting of the foodgrain through portability. Since inception of ONORC plan in August 2019, more than 125 crore portability transactions have been recorded under the ONORC service in the country.

Hapag-Lloyd to Continue Avoiding Red Sea Route

German shipping company Hapag-Lloyd said it will continue to avoid the Red Sea because it considers the area is still too dangerous despite the U.S. and allies deploying naval ships to deter further strikes by Houthi militants.
