Gurgaon faced a heatwave with a high of 45.3 degrees Celsius, above normal, as per the India Meteorological Department. Najafgarh in Delhi recorded the highest temperature in India at 47.4 degrees Celsius. Heatwave conditions are expected during the Lok Sabha elections in Punjab, Haryana, and Chandigarh. Several areas in Delhi reported high temperatures.
