RMT responds to the Budget 2024

Transport union RMT, today responded to the Budget, the first by a Labour Chancellor in over 14 years.

New boarding plan to ease London Euston overcrowding

Railnews - Network Rail has taken action to improve London Euston station, where there have been complaints of congestion on the ramps leading to the platforms after departures had been announced almost at the last minute. Transport secretary Louise Haigh intervened after protests from passengers and claims that the overcrowding was dangerous.



London strengthens truck safety mandating enhanced visibility to protect road users

Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport - Transport for London (TfL) has strengthened its Direct Vision Standard (DVS) for heavy goods vehicles (HGVs) in a move to improve road safety in the capital. From 28 October 2024, HGVs over 12 tonnes must meet a minimum three-star DVS rating or be fitted with an updated Progressive Safe System (PSS) to operate in Greater London. DFDS rolls out 10 heavy-duty electric trucks across the UK

Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport - DFDS has said they are on route to becoming one of the largest operators of heavy-duty electric trucks in the UK. This follows the ferry and logistics providermp;amp;rsquo;s announcement introducing 10 electric trucks delivering goods in east and northwest England and in Ireland.
