We need to connect the dots to see the complete picture. This week the city of Oregon passed a resolution asking the Ohio Department of Agriculture to require that two proposed Concentrated Animal Feeding Operation permits, which would add 14,400 more swine to the Maumee River watershed, treat manure from these facilities to human waste disposal standards, and that manure from these facilities that is land-applied meet phosphorus agronomic standards that apply to commercial fertilizer.
