Pros react to Golovkin’s win over Derevyanchenko
Gennadiy Golovkin and Sergiy Derevyanchenko put on a gritty show in New York.
Gennadiy Golovkin managed to get the nod on the cards tonight against a highly competitive Sergiy Derevyanchenko, coming out the winner at Madison Square Garden and regaining the IBF middleweight title.
Golovkin (40-1-1, 35 KO) wasn’t his old self by any means, which at 37 should probably be expected, but a lot of it has to be credited to Derevyanchenko (13-2, 10 KO), too, who fought a hell of a fight and had an argument for the win himself.
The win keeps Golovkin in play for a potential third fight with Canelo Alvarez, while Derevyanchenko keeps his status as a legitimate top contender at 160.
Some fighters watched along just like we did, and like us they have their thoughts on the fight. Some feel GGG did nick it, some feel Derevyanchenko deserved it, and all in all it’s generally agreed that we got a hell of a fight.

Banks do a lot of good shit in training with ggg but once ggg gets hit he goes back to the old him if I’m his trainer I demand the same shit we do in camp / I switch my training up to benefit what his likes it’s no in between he ain’t getting no younger and nor are the fights
