Four dead and five injured after shooting at bar in Kansas

Four people have been shot and a further five injured after a man walked into a bar and opened fire, police have said.

At this stage it is unclear if the shooter is dead or remains at large after the shooting in the Tequila KC bar in Kansas, US, today.

No official description of the killer has been released as yet although one journalist local to the area has reported him to be of Hispanic descent.

Kansas City police were notified of the shooting at 1.27 am local time, the force said.

Police spokesman Thomas Tomasic told CNN that officers arrived to find four people dead inside the bar.

A further five were taken to hospital and are said to be in stable conditions.

Tomasic said: ‘We do not have a good enough description yet, to put anything out for a suspect, or suspects, we don’t even know how many.’

Police remain at the Central Avenue bar looking for surveillance video of the area as they await for a search warrant to re-enter the bar having cleared it.
