Kate Middleton’s brother James confirms engagement to French girlfriend Alizee Thevenet as he posts selfie of sapphire sparkler

JAMES Middleton has announced his engagement to his French girlfriend Alizee Thevenet with a heartfelt Instagram post.

The Duchess of Cambridge’s younger brother, 32, shared a selfie of him and his wife-to-be, 29, in the Lake District with his 142,000 followers.

Unable to contain his excitement, James wrote: “She said OUI. Our secret is out but we couldn’t be happier to share the news.”

He then jokingly used the hashtag “#jalizee” which combines both their names.

Snuggled up to her husband-to-be, Alizee showed off her sizeable sapphire engagement ring on a strikingly simple silver band.

Since sharing the happy news this afternoon, James’ post has already racked up over 16,000 likes and messages of congratulations from royal fans.

Alongside the touching post, James also posted a video montage of pictures of him and his wife-to-be on his Instagram stories to the song “Sexy Weekend” by Scoundrels.

The 30-second clip shows the loved-up couple kissing underwater before giving fans a glimpse of some never-before-seen pictures of them.

Begging the question as to whether he turned to his siblings for advice picking out the ring, James’ sister Kate Middleton also has a stunning sapphire engagement ring which once belonged to Princess Diana.

James and Alizee reportedly met at the exclusive South Kensington Club after she said hello to his Cocker Spaniel, Ella, last year before meeting for a drink a few weeks later.
