Klopp tips Gerrard to succeed him as Liverpool manager but also names Dalglish as possible replacement
JURGEN KLOPP wants Steven Gerrard to succeed him as Liverpool boss – but claims fellow Anfield legend Kenny Dalgish could be the favourite.
German Klopp still has long-term dreams at Liverpool, not just the Premier League title this season after winning the Champions League last term.
But he believes his ideal, eventual replacement would be all-time great Reds midfielder Gerrard, 39, who is currently in his second season as Rangers chief.
Yet Klopp also feels 68-year-old Dalglish could be given the Anfield job for a third time.
The Daily Star report Klopp as telling comedian John Bishop: “Maybe Kenny would be first choice to replace me, but they would probably bring Stevie down from Glasgow.
“If you ask who should follow me, I’d say Stevie.”
Klopp has already backed Gerro in the past.

And Gerrard, who won 114 England caps, has admitted he is proud to hear such comments.
He told FourFourTwo: “I was surprised and flattered at the same time.
“But when you read the quote really carefully, like I have, it said ‘if I get sacked tomorrow’ he thinks Steven Gerrard should be the next Liverpool manager.
“Jurgen Klopp‘s not getting sacked tomorrow. I don’t want him to get sacked tomorrow. He’s doing a fantastic job.
“I’m a Liverpool fan. I’m sure every Liverpool fan on the planet endorses what I’m saying here.

“We want him to stay for many, many years and bring as much success to our club as possible.”
And it would certainly be a massive shock if ex-Borussia Dortmund boss Klopp went anywhere soon.
James Milner‘s controversial 95th minute penalty against Leicester on Saturday gave Liverpool eight wins from eight Prem games this term as they chase their first top-flight crown since 1990.
