Bear Grylls Treasure Island cast lost TWENTY stone between them after almost starving to death
BEAR Grylls Treasure Island contestants lost a huge twenty stone between them on their six weeks on the island.
The nine contestants – the tenth, Ruby, left after four days – lost the huge amount of weight as they almost starved to death after failing to find food on the island.
Viewers watched as the castaways struggled to find a clean water source, then kill a goat, as they battled each other to find £10,000.
And while plumber Jack managed to kill a seabird with a machete and an iguana to feed the camp, food then ran out as chief meal-hunters Marco and Ivar became more concerned with finding the boxes of cash around the camp – and not dinner.
Writer Elissa claimed at one point that they were “starving to death” and members of the camp struggled to stand up.
Several fishing expeditions failed – meaning the cast were left lying around fantasising about fish and chips and Nandos.
