Iranian Angelina Jolie ‘lookalike’ famous for horrifying Instagram snaps arrested on blasphemy charge
THE Iranian Angelina Jolie ‘lookalike’ who claimed she photoshopped her face to pass as the A-lister has been arrested on blasphemy charges, it has been reported.
Sahar Tabar, 22, made international headlines after she posted pictures of herself on Instagram with razor-sharp cheekbones and an oversized pout.
She previously claimed she had gone under the knife more than 50 times in a bid to look like Angelina Jolie.
Sahar then sparked controversy after saying her “zombie-like” look was the magic of Photoshop and makeup – and that she had no interest in looking like celebrity.
Sahar has been arrested on suspicion of blasphemy, instigating violence, illegally acquiring property, insulting the country’s dress code and encouraging young people to commit corruption, Tasnim news agency reported.
The Iranian news outlet claims judicial authorities arrested her after members of the public made complaints about her.
‘A KIND OF ART’
After hitting headlines for her corpse bride appearance in 2017, Sahar reportedly told Russian media outlet Sputnik: “This is Photoshop and make-up.
“Every time I publish a photo, I paint my face in an increasingly funny way.
“It is a way of expressing yourself, a kind of art. My fans know that this is not my real face.”
Sahar has previously posted images to appear as if she had got surgery on her face.
Last year, she posted a cleverly-edited photo of herself on Instagram in which she showed off her latest surgery.
In picture posted to Instagram, Sahar’s face is almost entirely covered in bandages that spread underneath her eyes and around her cheekbones.
The bridge of Sahar’s nose appears thinner than ever before and the tip of the star’s nose remains distinctly angular and upturned.
